Dead Farming

When I first found this abandoned church and cemetery, I knew it was in rural Kansas, but I had no idea just how rural it would be until I arrived at about 10pm. There was literally nothing around in any direction for miles. I really wanted to give a spooky feeling to this very eerie location. I had the idea to add a human element by standing in the image with a lantern, and trying to look like a caretaker. It took about 5 takes to get this shot which was a good thing as the wind which was howling here, continued to get worse and I continued to get colder and colder.
