So, I’ve been working on a bit of time-lapse stuff lately with the eventual goal of putting together a short film. I’ve shot a variety of stuff so far, but last night’s shoot was one of the coolest. A good friend and I have been spending nights riding the McKinney Ave Trolleys and capturing it for time-lapse footage. Here’s a glimpse of what we’ve been capturing.
A bit about this trolley, it was originally built in 1909 in Philadelphia and named the Crescent Rose. It was then exported to Porto, Portugal where it was in service daily until 1978. It was then shipped back to the states where it saw service in San Francisco and was finally bought and brought to Dallas. All in all, this car has seen 97 years of use and it is just a beauty. It’s affectionately nick-named “Rosie”.
