Boxcar Blues
An old Santa Fe Boxcar stands with it’s only friend: the windmill. I had shot a sunset-to-night time-lapse here once before and was not happy with the outcome. On this trip, I spent the night in my car, in order to capture the first morning light that you see here. The wind was gusting in [...]

Spin The Night
As many of you know, I have a thing for old windmills. I found this one by accident along a dark stretch of open road in the middle of Texas. I’d pulled over to use the err.. restroom, when I noticed this eery sounds coming from the other side of the road. As I approached, [...]

Towering Wind Talker
This was originally intended to be used as a “setup” shot to show the location of this shoot and how we were shooting it. Instead, I found that I really liked shot because it showed the grand scale that these turbines exist on. I also liked that the other photographer was visible in this and [...]

Country Windmill
The remnants of an old farm sit and rust while the sun slowly sets. Shot at sunset, with an 85mm prime lens this was taken from an old road where these remnants were found just about every other mile or so. Yes, I think I may have a thing for windmills. For some reason I [...]

Tilting at the stars
This was my most successful shot from many taken in a 3-hour span when I first found this location. I was getting pretty bad light pollution but in this case, I think it really adds to the mood of this image.

Spin 360º
This is the first shot (of many) I’d taken of these magnificent turbines. These are located in the heart of cowboy country and afforded many different angles to be shot. I picked this one because of the foreground and how it shows the majestic heights of these windmills.
