This is my most ambitious lighting setup that I’ve ever attempted comprising 5 remote lights, multiple static diffused lights hidden throughout the scene, and then a lot of handheld torch work. I titled this because as beautiful as the light was here, it was just a mere moment before it was gone. The sculpted light quickly replaced by ominous thunderheads from an approaching storm.
It was mostly a pretty dreary day at Arches. I hung out and explored around a bit when right after sunset (or the lack of) the skies parted briefly, and then down came a bolt of lightning.
Spent the evening traipsing around the wonders that is Goblin Valley, in Utah. This place is very fun, especially when you have the place all to yourself.
One of the most other-wordly places I’ve ever been to, the Bisti Badlands, deep in New Mexico.
