Tree of Souls
An old tree sits in the dry lake bed waiting for a drink during the longest and driest drought period in Texas history.

Boxcar Blues
An old Santa Fe Boxcar stands with it’s only friend: the windmill. I had shot a sunset-to-night time-lapse here once before and was not happy with the outcome. On this trip, I spent the night in my car, in order to capture the first morning light that you see here. The wind was gusting in [...]

Arches At Night
This was a shot that I was pleased that it turned out as I was afraid the night was going to be a bust. When I arrived back at the park at night, I found the area heavily covered in clouds and feared that the night would be a loss. However, the ambient light pollution [...]

Arches at Dusk
This was one of my favorite (and rare) daytime shots while at Arches National Park. This was right as the sun was going down and the glow was just unbelievable. This place is just perfection, it’s so beautiful – it’s like everything was placed there by hand.

Moab Glows
The glow of Moab works to create a nice interesting backlight behind Turret Arch in Arches National Park. It’s very dark here but I was pretty surprised by the amount of light pollution put off by the nearby town of Moab, UT. The milky way was rather impressive, rising over this beautiful location and kept [...]

Time Tree
This was a tree that I sort of stumbled upon while hiking around in Arches National Park, in the dark. I saw it’s silhouette against the light pollution of Moab in the background and coupled with the rising Milky Way on the horizon, I knew it would make for a dramatic scene. I’d battled fast [...]

Swift Meat
The title of this piece has sort of a dual meaning. Of course the bird of prey is hunting, but this shot was actually taken at the abandoned Swift Meat packing facilities in Fort Worth’s Stockyards.

Storm Silo
The remnants of an abandoned seafood processing plant located on the peninsula in downtown Biloxi. The subject matter wasn’t that great but the light sure was! If you look closely, you can see some of the damage incurred during Hurricane Katrina.

Stormy Night
This was a Hurricane Katrina remnant that broke loose and drifted in the bay for weeks. Finally, it made ashore in Biloxi, and I became obsessed with shooting it. I proceeded to shoot this subject on 3 separate full moons spanning 3 months time. This was from the first full moon and was “marred” by [...]
