Hubbard Lakes 2
The red growth around the perimeter of the lake really stood out under the moon light. I was fighting a very strong wind which you can see in the limbs of the tree. The movement made the tree appear like it was on fire with the red growth. This was a really lovely spot and I [...]

Hubbard Lakes 1
Shot on a moonlit night, I had to keep the moon to my back and I was shooting before the moon got too high into the sky and ruined the stars. There was some sort of red vegetation that was growing all around the lake and really stood out under the moon light.

Field Tractor
Found this old tractor and knew it would make a nice anchoring object for a night scene. The lighting was very tricky as was the framing. I was actually quite close to the tractor here with an ultra wide angle lens.

Lincoln Logs
The remnants of a very early settlement stand (sorta) in the middle of a field far out in nowhere land. This was really fun to shoot and there were actually longhorn cattle in this shot, although they were moving so they are not visible in the frame.

Lone Tree Hill
There were actually other trees around, but I thought the name suited the image here. This was shot on a night with about 3/4 moon light so it was pretty easy to make my away around the fields. The only thing to bump into was Longhorn cattle. It was a beautiful night and the trees [...]

Chicken Corner
This was shot down the road from Pilgrim’s Pride chicken and turkey processing plant. I was driving and saw a neat framing by the trees and decided to pull over and shoot it. As I had my tripod in the middle of the road, a truck coming the other way, just over the hill, triggered [...]

Busted in Jericho
I found this old broken down wagon out near the small ghost town of Jericho, TX. I was surprised to see that it was still in very decent shape and that it hadn’t been pilfered or vandalized, although it was off the beaten path so that probably helped it survive.

Anna Tower
A very old water tower located near Anna, TX served as a perfect subject matter for a night shoot. Here, the steel from under the peeling coats of paint, shimmer from the moon light. I lit the foreground and the underside of the tower with a snooted flash to help it stand out against the sky.

Chicken Bridge
An old bridge in a very rural section of Oklahoma stands under the blue skies of the early evening glow. I nearly got hit by a truck as I had visions from that scene in Stand By Me where the kids are running to get off the railroad bridge. Here I was, standing in the [...]
